Fine wines and kids usually don't go hand in hand, but the City Winery Chicago (1200 W. Randolph St.), a 30,000-sq.-ft., fully-functioning winery, concert hall and Mediterranean eatery is inviting families to celebrate spring with a variety of kid-friendly programming.
On the last Saturday of every month from February through April, City Winery's new Kids' Concert Series will present Stomp Your Feet to the Jammin' Beat with Amy Lowe and KingKatz, award-winning indie singers. While parents indulge in brunch, kids are invited to dine then dash to the stage for dance and sing-alongs. Brunch is available for purchase starting at 11 a.m. and during the performances.
Located in the historic urban Fulton Market district, City Winery offers a taste of wine country in the heart of the city. The stainless steel fermenting tanks, oak barrels and intoxicating aroma of fermentation in action will all remind you that you're at Chicago's only fully operation winery.
The brunch menu features two "tour" menus - ideal for sharing - including an artisan cheese tour and a West Loop salami tour. Be sure to try a flight of the many in-house wines sourced from vineyards in California, Oregon, Washington, Argentina and Chile. City Winery's very own interpretation of the Bloody Mary is a delightful blend of premium 42 Below vodka and Malbec and arrives garnished with artisanal cheese, seasonal charcuterie, and a grilled olive.
