Spring is showing its lovely face in Chicago. We adore our city gardens, where flowers are already starting to shoot up from the ground. Did you know that even our City Hall has a garden on its rooftop? Happily, even our family's tiny garden is showing a signs of life.
One of the best places in the city to catch spring blooms is the Lincoln Park Conservatory. The beauty of spring is in full bloom here - and the glass-paned conservatory will protect you from the elements. Located just next door to both The Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum and the Lincoln Park Zoo, the conservatory is a wonderful place to catch your breath after a busy day. My kids love exploring the four houses - Palm House, Fern Room, Orchid House and Show House - and always are certain to visit with the touch-sensitive ferns and the Venus fly trap.
This year, you'll be able to see the direct descendants of the great Azaleas that once bloomed at the World’s Columbian Exposition of 1893!
