Hard Rock Hotel Chicago

Whether you're a rockstar or just a rockin' family, Hard Rock Hotel Chicago is the place to stay if you're looking for a red carpet rockin' weekend in Chicago. Housed in the historic, polished black granite Carbide & Carbon building, an art deco gem, this modern hotel features all the comfort, style and attention to detail that today's rockstars demand, while staying perfectly in tune with visiting families and kids. Here are seven perks that make for a totally rad family weekend at Chicago's Hard Rock Hotel.

Luxe Rooms
At about 350 square feet, the standard rooms at Chicago's Hard Rock offer space and comfort that will give everyone in your family room to breathe. If you're looking to truly rock out and relax, book a suite; my kids and I had a blast staying in a Studio Suite during our last downtown staycation. Located on the semi-private access floors in the hotel's tower, our spacious suite (450 square feet!), with its separate living area, made us feel like VIPs. The view from the suite floors is spectacular, too, with sweeping vistas of the Chicago River, Millennium Park and North Michigan Avenue. If you want to splurge, the two bedroom, two and a half bath Angels & Kings penthouse suite, located at the very top of the tower, is unbelievably awesome.

Celebrity-Curated Playlist Made Just for You
The Hard Rock Hotel's Tracks program gives you access to a 10-song playlist hand-selected by your favorite rockstar of choice. Upon check in, the hotel will provide you with a code to download your choice of celebrity-curated playlist.

In-Room Fender Guitars
Guests at the Hard Rock Hotel receive free access to a huge variety of legendary Fender guitars. Browse a menu of 20 different guitars and bass guitars, place your order and staff will deliver it free of charge to your room with a headphone amplifier and Nixon headphones so you can practice for your next big gig during your stay in Chicago.

The Chance to Become Your Own In-Room DJ
Here's your chance to become a DJ: Upon request, an iPad with Traktor DJ and pre-installed music will be delivered to your room, so you can rock out at your in-room club.

Shop the Rock Shop
The hotel's Rock Shop features clothing and accessories created by designers who cater to the stars, including Lyric and King Baby, as well as Rock Shop exclusive collections.

Excellent In-Hotel Dining
Everyone in our family appreciated the modern American cuisine at the in-hotel restaurant Chuck's, where rockstar Chef Kerry Simon runs the show, offering signature bites, sips, and sweets in a chic yet comfortable setting. Kids will even eat their Brussels sprouts here - they're deliciously tempura battered and fried. Give the burger here a try: it won Simon the "Iron Chef America - Battle Hamburger" challenge.

Location, Location, Location
The hotel stands on North Michigan Avenue, steps away from all the shopping, dining and cultural attractions of both the Mag Mile and the Loop. A few blocks south you'll find Millennium Park; a few steps west and you're in the downtown theatre district. This hotel is so centrally located, you can count on your feet (or the L) to get you everywhere, and the view of the city from the upper floors is one of the best in the city.
