Saturday Night Live is heading into it's 38th season with three fresh faces pulled right from Chicago's comedy stages. Aidy Bryant, Tim Robinson and Cecily Strong were all beloved performers at The Second City and other Chicago theatres before they were discovered by Lorne Michaels and his scouts.

SNL has a long history with former Chicago comedians, from Bill Murray and John Belushi in the original cast through Tina Fey, many of their biggest names have heralded from the comedy capitol. They'll join fellow Chicagoans: head writer Seth Meyers, performer Vanessa Bayer and writer Mike O'Brien. Catch them this Saturday night as SNL opens its new season with host Seth MacFarlane and musical guest Frank Ocean.

Here's a little about the three new recruits

Aidy Bryant

Aidy Bryant most recently wrote and performed in The Second City e.t.c.'s Jeff Nominated revue, We're All in This Room Together which was her second revue on The Second City e.t.c. stage. Her first revue, Sky's the Limit (Weather Permitting) won Jeff Awards for Best Production - Revue, Ensemble and New Work – Musical or Revue. Aidy also performed with Virgin Daiquiri at iO and Baby Wants Candy.

Aidy, originally from Phoenix, is a graduate of Columbia College Chicago where she participated in the Comedy Studies program, which offers a unique opportunity to study full-time at The Second City for an entire semester and earn college credit through Columbia College Chicago.

Tim Robinson

Second City alumni Tim Robinson wrote and performed in two revues on The Second City Mainstage including Spoiler Alert: Everybody Dies and South Side of Heaven. He also wrote and performed in the Comedy Central pilot "My Mans" produced by Bob Odenkirk.

Tim is from Detroit where he first performed with The Second City Detroit before moving to Chicago.

Cecily Strong

After studying at The Second City Training Center in the Conservatory Program, Cecily Strong performed with Second City Theatricals aboard the Norwegian Jewel and has been on the road with The Second City Touring Company since 2011. Cecily Strong is an Oak Park, IL native.
