For the third consecutive year, Soldier Field will host an outdoor hockey event.
On Feb. 7, 2015, the home of the Chicago Bears will host two games featuring four of the more prominent college hockey programs in the country in the third-annual Hockey City Classic.
All four of these teams have NHL-drafted players on their rosters, including Chicago Blackhawks prospects Tyler Motte (Michigan) and Anthony Louis (Miami).
Chicago hosted the innaugural Hockey City Classic in 2013, and the following year the National Hockey League brought the Stadium Series to Soldier Field with the Blackhawks hosting the Pittsburgh Penguins.
This year's Hockey City Classic will be sponsored by Chicago-based logistics provider Coyote Logistics LLC. Coyote also sponsors the Chicago Mission of the HPHL. The local minor hockey team had four alumni drafted into the NHL in 2014, including William Nylander (eighth overall to Toronto) and Nick Schmaltz (20th overall to Chicago).
