Feasting Through Avondale
Finding those local foodie gems is part of what makes traveling such fun, right? Lucky for you, there are a few right in Avondale to try. Start with Chicago's legendary Kuma's Corner (2900 W. Belmont Ave.), a burger place that has blown the minds of all who enter. With it's decadent and interesting burger selection, people walk out of Kuma's Corner changed and hungering to go back.
Urban Belly (3058 N. California Ave.) is also a Chicago favorite amid the vast Asian Fusion scene. Its quaint atmosphere, delicious food and BYO casualness keep locals coming back again and again. The homemade sauces are to die for!
What? You haven't had your fill of Polish food lately? Get to Avondale! Avondale offers some amazing traditional Polish restaurants, including Staropolska (3030 N. Milwaukee Ave.) and Red Apple (3121 N. Milwaukee Ave.). Both offer your favorite Polish delicacies including pierogi, kielbasa, and stuffed cabbage.
Playing Through Avondale
Avondale has some incredible parks that allow you to better explore the city and take in the amazing spring weather. Avondale Park and Brands Park are two ideal spots for families to enjoy the summer weather, while Clark Park offers the chance to Kayak down the Chicago River. With Park District amenities like tennis courts, a dog play area, and classes offered at the district buildings, all of these parks can keep a whole family occupied for days!
Partying Through Avondale
Avondale is also home to some amazing nightlife. Alice's Lounge (3556 W. Blemont Ave.) offers karaoke every night, while the Orbit Room (2959 N. California) and Late Bar (3534 W. Belmont Ave.) offer dancing a relaxing. Ignite Gaming Lounge (3341 N. Elston Ave.) is reputed as one of the finest gaming spots in the country. You can game here until 3AM (everyone's boyfriend just got a little more excited for the trip, right?).
