The 32nd National Sports Collectors Convention comes to the Chicago area from Thursday, Aug. 4 through Sunday, Aug. 7.
For four days at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, some of the biggest names in professional sports will be available to fans. This event has traditionally been a wonderful place for fans of every sport to meet some of their heroes, get a valued autograph or complete a collection. The past, present and future will be on display throughout the weekend, as players from all over the country appear.
Among the great Chicago Hall of Famers scheduled to appear are Luis Aparicio and Carlton Fisk of the White Sox, Gale Sayers of the Bears, Pierre Pilote of the Blackhawks and Goose Gossage of the Cubs.
A number of active players from Chicago, including Kerry Wood, Starlin Castro and Matt Garza of the Cubs, White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen and Antti Niemi of the 2010 Stanley Cup Champion Blackhawks, are scheduled to attend as well.
