Have you picked up tickets for Chicago Gourmet? The premiere food and wine festival presented by Bon Appétit returns for its fourth year between September 28-30. The easiest way to attend is to do more of what you and I both love -- dine out in Chicago!
The promotion is called Dine Around and it's already underway. Enjoy a prix-fixe meal or a la carte items from five of the participating Chicago Gourmet restaurants between now and September 30. Save your receipt for a meal worth $35 or more, and you qualify for a one-day ticket to Chicago Gourmet. The Hamburger Hop is the only exception to the promotion. For more information about the Dine Around and how to redeem your ticket, click here.
There are several participating restaurants this year, and as always I have trouble narrowing down the choices. So far, I plan to visit Chalkboard (4343 North Lincoln Avenue) for the amazing Southern fried chicken. Allium at Four Seasons Chicago (120 East Delaware Place) for the blue crab and sweet corn gnocchi as well as another serving of the scrumptious miso butterscotch shake. I may treat myself to Chef McClain's vegetarian tasting menu at Green Zebra (1460 W Chicago Ave.) or brunch with friends at The Bristol (2152 N. Damen Avenue). Who knows? A trip to The Gage (24 S Michigan Ave) for carmelized lobster served over quinoa, or even Le Colonial (937 N. Rush St.) for some upscale Vietnamese cuisine may also work their way onto my dining schedule.
If you don't have time to visit every place on your list, there are still Saturday, Sunday and weekend passes available. Get yours today!
