You'll be groovin' with the fishies this week when the Shedd Aquarium kicks off its wildly popular Jazzin' at the Shedd series. Celebrating a striking 20th anniversary this year the Aquarium has gathered another summer's worth of local musicians and even expanded its programming to please the analytical as well as the artistic. You can catch these concerts every Wednesday beginning tomorrow (June 25) through September 3.
Guests of Jazzin' at the Shedd can expect to spend the night exploring the aquarium's various exhibits, from the Polar Play Zone to the gorgeous Jellies gallery (full of colorful, exotic, living jellyfish), and enjoying an evening of live jazz music on the lakeside outdoor terrace. Stay late enough, and you'll have a perfect view for nearby Navy Pier's Wednesday night fireworks beginning at 9 p.m.
This year, in addition to live music and various marine exhibits, the Shedd has added the Jazzin' science pub to its Wednesday night events. On July 23, August 20 and September 3, the pub will be hosted by aquarium experts, ready to answer your burning questions about the Aquarium's creatures.
Jazzin' at the Shedd runs every Wednesday, June 25 through September 3, from 5 to 10 p.m. Tickets are $18 for adults and $16 for children (ages 3-11). For a full list of this summer's performers, see below:
