Everyone knows that the best way to spend a weekend in Chicago in the summer is taking advantage of the gorgeous lakefront — and the best way to take advantage of the lakefront is in a boat.
This weekend, Lake Michigan’s largest event returns in its 16th year – the Chicago Scene Annual Boat Party.
The Chicago Scene Boat Party Weekend is made up of five different events — both in and out of the water.
At the center of the weekend is the official Chicago Scene Boat Party Saturday, July 25 aboard the Anita Dee I out of DuSable Harbor. Tickets, which range from $60 to $125 for VIP, include the four-hour cruise and all other events throughout the weekend.
Have your own boat, or lucky enough to have a friend with one? In years past, as many as 800 boats and nearly 10,000 boaters have taken to the waters on the last Saturday of each July celebrating Chicago's amazing waterfront. Just off of Oak Street Beach, be a part of the best party by land or by sea (lake).
Starting Friday night, celebrate Boat Party Weekend with a kick-off event at the Godfrey Hotel, followed by an after-party at Shay. After a day on the water Saturday, finish off the day with the official after-party at Shay, and cap off the weekend with brunch at the Godfrey.
This event only comes around once a year, so be sure not to miss out. For full details on the weekend's events visit chicagosceneboatparty.com.
