Over the past few months, you've become quite familiar with the occasional flash of bright blue throughout the Chicago streets, but you've never seen a Divvy bike quite like this one: The HoliDivvy bike. Cheerfully wrapped in candy cane-esque stripes, this single HoliDivvy Bike is making its way across the city from one of its 300 Divvy satsions through New Year's Day. Will you be the one to come across on it on your daily commute?
Partnering with local artist collaborative Spoken Art to create the candy cane bike, Divvy is encouraging riders lucky enough to spot the holidy bike to Instagram, tweet and Facebook a photo using the hastag #HOLIDIVVY. At the end of the season, Divvy will select its favorite #HOLIDIVVY photo takers to receive a limited edition Divvy beanie cap or even an Annual Membership - talk about a useful Christmas gift!
Even with this seemingly-never-ending snow fall across Chicago, Divvy bikes continue to be a main mode of transportation for many a Chicagoan. Since its launch on June 28 this summer, roughly 740,000 trips have been taken, with 382,000 Annual Member trips and 360,000 24-Hour Pass trips. The cold of December hasn't kept riders off their bikes either; more than 20,000 trips have been taken so far this month.
