This summer, American Girl Place Chicago promises to be a hub for all things artistic and creative. Invite your favorite girl for a day of fun with her lookalike doll by registering for a workshop, special event, or American Girl's very special summer reading program, Read-a-Palooza.
This summer's fun centers on the Girl of the Year, Saige Copeland. Saige, known for her creativity, uses her artistic talents to bring her community together in support of an after-school arts program. So naturally American Girl Place invites you and your girl to participate in an in-store scavenger hunt, construct a mini sculpted hot air balloon, create a horse collage, and more. Most events are free, but registration is often required. Check out the stores Special Events page for more information or to register.
You also won't want to miss the in-store premier of Saige's brand new movie, Saige Paints the Sky! This highly anticipated event is expected to sell out, so check back frequently for changes in availability. If you miss your window, you can still check out the trailer here.
In honor of Saige, the Art Institute of Chicago has created a mini-tour that families can take through the museum's galleries. The mini-tour features four masterpieces that relate to Saige's story. Every customer that purchases a Saige doll will receive the mini-tour as part of their purchase, or you can download it yourself here.
Encourage your American girl to escape into books all summer long by taking part in the American Girl Read-a-Palooza. You'll find a host of online activities, including trivia quizzes, printables, book excerpts and learning guides. In-store, kids can decorate a pretty bookmark craft inspired by American Girl activity books for free on select dates.
