Every summer TBS' Just for Laughs rolls into Chicago with a caravan of top tier stand-up comedians. This year's festival, which runs Tuesday, June 11 - Sunday, June 16, features everything from local acts to Bob Newhart. While the event is still a month away, tickets will go fast so act now. To help, we have five shows that you can't miss.
Seth Meyers with Special Guests Al Madrigal & Hannibal Buress
Saturday Night Live's head writer and Weekend Update host, Seth Meyers, along with SNL writer Hannibal Buress and Daily Show correspondent Al Madrigal take the stage at the Chicago Theatre on Friday, June 14. Any one of those three would be a formidable show, but the three together cannot be missed.
If you're looking for familiar faces and lots of laughs, this show's for you.
Hannibal performed at Demitri Martin's show for Just for Laughs two years ago, and I was lucky enough to be there. The entire audience was crying with laughter.

John Hodgman, Performing as Celebrated Humorist John Hodgman in: John Hodgman Tonight!
Comedian, author, podcaster, Daily Show correspondent and Battlestar Galactica guest star John Hodgman returns to Chicago for an evening of reading, joking and (apparently) dressing up like Ayn Rand. The show is at Park West on Thursday, June 13.
John Hodgman has a style all his own. If you're a fan of his work on TV or any of his books, don't miss this chance to see him live. I've gone twice now, in two of the funniest evenings of my life.

Second City alums 30 Rock's Scott Adsit, Conan O'Brien writer Kevin Dorff, improv legends TJ & Dave and Delocated's Jon Glaser join forces for what will be one of the best improv shows of the year on Wednesday, June 12 at UP Comedy Club.
If you want to see improv done by the masters, go see this show.
The Whitest Kids U' Know
The sketch group behind some of the funniest videos on YouTube, five seasons of their self-titled show on IFC and the upcoming feature film, The Civil War on Drugs, performs live at Park West on Wednesday, June 12.
If you want funny, edgy sketch comedy (and especially if you already watch their show), get your tickets now.

Aidy Bryant, Tim Robinson and Cecily Strong come back to Chicago after their first season on SNL for a weekend of killer improv shows at UP Comedy Club.
These three are Chicago fan favorites. We loved them before SNL and love them even more now. Come see them in their element.
