Renaissance Blackstone

The
Renaissance Blackstone Chicago Hotel earned its place in history, and a spot on the National Register of Historic Places, in part for hosting twelve U.S. presidents, from Teddy Roosevelt to Jimmy Carter. Now you can get the presidential treatment during your Chicago stay—minus all the politics, of course. In honor of the presidential race, the iconic hotel is offering a "Stay Like a President Package," available through November 13 (a week after the presidential election).

'Stay Like a President Package' Highlights

Start off your presidential stay with your own "secret service" treatment in an exclusive black car reserved to chauffeur you to and from the airport. You'll be welcomed at check-in with a glass of premium bubbly to toast to the occasion, and then the presidential treatment really kicks in.

  • Sleep Like a President

Renaissance Blackstone Suite of Presidents

The hotel's historic suites and guest rooms offer sweeping lakefront views. Stay in the Suite of Presidents (pictured above), where Harry Truman delighted staff with a private piano performance of the "Missouri Waltz." And where President Eisenhower watched his 1952 nomination for president on TV. These are just a few former guests and politically significant moments that have happened in this grand suite. This exceptional three-room suite captures all of the distinguished elegance and subtle refinement of true executive power.

Renaissance Blackstone Smoke Filled Suite

Or choose the Smoke Filled Suite (pictured above), the only one of its kind both for its design and its political significance, as the site where cigar-smoking Republican leaders brokered the presidential nomination of Warren G. Harding during the 1920 Republican Convention. Consequently, it was here that an AP reporter covering the convention coined the widely known phrase "a smoke-filled room." The room also offers panoramic views of Lake Michigan, a formal foyer, powder room, dining room that seats eight and a luxurious bedroom. Note: historic suites are subject to availability.

  • Dress Like a President

Channel your inner fashionable First Lady (à la Michelle Obama or Jackie O) or get outfitted in your own Presidential power suit with a one-on-one personal shopper who will help you dress the part with a $500 shopping gift card. Show off your ensemble with a night on the town or while exploring one of the many nearby attractions nearby, including the Art Institute, Grant Park and the Field Museum

  • Eat Like a President

Mercat a la Planxa

Dine in style with a fancy four-course menu (valued at $46 to commemorate the next 46th president) developed for you by the hotel's Executive Chef, Aaron McKay, served either in-room or at the adjacent Mercat a la Planxa, the Spanish-style tapas restaurant at the hotel helmed by Chef Jose Garces.

Plus, enjoy breakfast in bed every morning of your stay as well as a welcome amenity or an in-room late-night snack of bites and spirits inspired by the 2016 candidates' hometowns. Choose either New York cheesecake and a Manhattan cocktail (Trump–NYC) or a bucket of Garrett Popcorn and a Goose Island 312 or Matilda beer (Clinton–Chicago).

Rates start at $2,016 (to commemorate the election year); two-night minimum stay is required. Rooms and suites are subject to availability. Taxes and gratuities included.

Fun fact: In addition to the package, the hotel will be implementing a special offer until November 14 for all guests upon check-in. Every person named "Hillary" or "Donald" (proof of ID is required) or holds the title of "President" at their employer (employment documentation) will receive a complimentary glass of champagne.
