CSO - Playing Music - Blog

Go ahead and admit it... you love Christmas music. More and more I hear people say that the holiday tunes are one of their favorite things about this time of year. But while listening to it on 93.9 Lite FM's 24-hour stream in your office or at the department store while you're getting your shopping done is great and all, music that only comes once a year deserves a truly spectacular experience.

That's why the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Chorus is decking its halls and putting on a few holiday-themed weekend performances this year.

The CSO is world-renowned for its prestigious arrangements but expect to see them having a little more fun than usual at these shows. They promise a series of carols, sing-a-longs and even a few originals of their own. Even hometown favorite "Christmas in Chicago" will make an appearance during the program. Joining the stage for these special "Welcome Yule" performances are some rising, young stars in the Chicago music scene in for form of the CSO's holiday children ensemble and the Midwest Young Artists vocal group Voices Rising.

Both afternoon and evening performances will be held during the final two weekends of the month, Dec. 14-16 and 21-23. Visit the CSO's calendar for a full list of showtimes. Tickets for all shows range between $50 and $75. The show is recommended to all ages five and up based on its length. You're asked to leaves the babies at home.

Yule definitely be feeling the holiday spirit after these performances!
