John Hancock

Chicago invites you to tilt out above the city - from 94 stories up. Thrill-seekers rejoice! 360 CHICAGO (formerly John Hancock Observatory) just announced an epic new attraction that will forever change the way visitors (and us locals who are daring enough to try it) see Chicago. TILT debuts this spring, providing visitors to 360 CHICAGO a brand new way to see the city.

How does this work, you ask? TILT is an enclosed, glass and steel moveable platform that holds up to eight visitors per cycle. Once safely situated inside, the platform slowly tilts outward to an angle that has you looking down at the city beneath you, generating downward-facing views of Chicago - from one thousand feet above The Mag Mile! As the birthplace of the skyscraper, Chicago can't help itself but to keep the world on its toes when it comes to exploring the city. "Chicago has long been a pioneer in architecture... and  continues to be the leader in innovative architecture and TILT furthers that tradition," said Nichole Williamson, General Manager of 360 CHICAGO. "Visitors to Chicago will soon be able to experience unsurpassable views while in motion on TILT."

The grand unveiling of TILT will be taking place in less than a month. As Choose Chicago prepares to welcome the U.S. Travel Association's 46th Annual IPW (the largest travel trade show in North America) April 5-9, 2014, the timing for the unveiling of Chicago's newest attraction could not be better. More than 500 international and overseas travel journalists and influencers will be the first to preview TILT prior to its inaugural tilt. This year marks the first time since 1998 that Chicago serves as host city for the even, and we have quite a bit to show the world since then.

TILT is located in 360 CHICAGO's south end, allowing you to experience unique skyline views of Chicago, both before you and beneath you. The cost will be an introductory rate of $5 per experience, plus the cost of general admission to the observatory. Special group rates are also available and reservations made 72 hours in advance are required. TILT tickets can be purchased online or in person at the 360 CHICAGO ticketing desk based on availability.

Stay tuned! TILT debuts at 360 CHICAGO later this spring.
