The Encompass Championship pairs legendary golfers and local celebrities together for an incredible weekend of chip shots and drives. The tournament, which runs from June 17-23, is a unique Pro-Am format that puts Masters Tournament champion Ben Crenshaw alongside Chicago Bears coach Marc Trestman. If you're interested in catching this fun collection of famous locals and incredible golfers, consider a trip the North Shore Country Club in suburban Glenview for this amazing event.

Legendary Golfers

Among the golfers committed to play in the tournament are World Golf Hall of Fame members Fred Couples, Ben Crenshaw, Nick Price and many others. Chicagoland residents Chip Beck and Ryder Cup co-captain Jeff Sluman, as well as Chip Beck are all slated to compete.

Celebrity Appearances

Joining that list of golf legends are some famous Chicagoans and other celebrities. New Chicago Bears head coach Marc Trestman and his kicker, Robbie Gould, will hit the links. And while Trestman won't coach him this year, recently-retired (and future Hall of Fame) linebacker Brian Urlacher will be on hand to practice his new year-round hobby.

Also playing will be Chicago Blackhawks play-by-play announcer Pat Foley, actor Dennis Haysbert (Major League, The Unit, 24) and NFL Hall of Fame quarterback Joe Theismann.

There will be some money on the line for the golf legends. The Champions Tour professionals will be competing for the individual title and a $1.8M purse. This tournament is fun, but it's not a spectacle, expect a hard fought competition and for the golfers to take winning very seriously.
