The Hollander is one of Chicago’s top-rated hostels/hotels, located in Chicago's trendy Wicker Park neighborhood. It sits where Wicker Park meets Bucktown, making it the ideal location for accessing some of Chicago’s best nightlife and culture. It’s just steps away from the Damen Blue Line 'L' stop for ultimate convenience (to O'Hare airport and downtown), and a meeting place for travelers, with plenty of options for added privacy and comfort. Like another hip hostel in the city, The Hollander was built in a historic building that dates back to 1905. The Hollander Fireproof Warehouse was originally a storage place for German American Albert H. Hollander’s Express & Van Company.
Free wi-fi is included with all rooms. The Hollander encourages its guests to socialize with each other through Instagram. To jumpstart this, you’ll be asked for your Instagram handle when you book a room.
ACCOMMODATIONS AT THE HOLLANDER
The Hollander is a hostel/hotel fusion. There are traditional shared hostel rooms with either four or six beds. Every bunk bed has a locker and reading light. Each room has an en-suite bathroom with a private restroom and shower. Bathrooms are stocked with complimentary Beessential natural products.
If you’re traveling with a group of friends or family, private hotel-style loft rooms are also available. Choose from an arrangement of queen or twin beds, and enjoy the luxury of a TV and mini bar. Private rooms include personal lockers and a sitting area. Guests who book a private room also get access to pool and new rooftop Cabana Club at adjoining sister property The Robey Chicago!
On the ground floor lobby, guests can relax in the lounge or grab a snack at H! Bar Coffee Shop. There’s also a bike rental and repair shop in the building. Biking is a fun and low-cost way to explore the city during the summer. Packing light? The Hollander offers laundry services to guests.
You’ll probably be out and about for most of the day, but The Hollander provides a convenient and lively place to call home for your stay in Chicago.
