Whether you call him dad, papa, or daddy, your father deserves some love this upcoming Father's Day, Sunday, June 18. Chicago rolls out the red carpet for both local and out-of-town dads thanks to fun fatherly events and dad-centric deals. Here are four quick ideas for celebrating Father's Day in Chicago with the fab dad in your life.

Option #1 if Dad loves seasonal, locally-brewed beers...

Dovetail Brewery Chicago

Award-winning Dovetail Brewery (1800 W. Belle Plaine, Chicago, IL; 773-683-1414) is the place to be this Father's day: Take a brewery tour then plan on spending a couple of hours in the brewery's famously family-friendly tap room, where dads can indulge to his heart's desire in craft beers paired with an expanded menu that includes cheese flights, pretzels, German-style sausages, pickled eggs and more. Mike's Revenge Food Truck will also pull right up to the taproom and serve mouthwatering and extra meaty sandwiches. In addition to the Lager, Pilsner, Hopfenlager, Rauchbier and Hefeweizen, give Dovetail’s seasonal specialty, the Maibock, a try — it was brewed in celebration of Dovetail's one year anniversary last month.

Option #2 if Dad loves a day at the beach...

Castaways Chicago

Treat Dad to a beach party this Father's Day at Castaways, North Avenue Beach's premier hotspot. Enjoy live entertainment by DJ Jem, steps from the sand, from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, June 17 and Sunday, June 18, as you sip refreshing cocktails like the Castaways Island Ice Tea with a Malibu Red floater, Bacardi Mai Tai and Chicago Breeze (Captain Morgan White Rum, cranberry and pineapple juices, club soda), or frozen sensations like Barcardi pina and strawberry coladas, and the Mango Margarita. Guests can also refuel with lunch and dinner, served from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. (weather permitting), with menu items like fresh salads, wraps, sandwiches, and quesadillas.

Option #3 if Dad loves wacky Japanese game shows...

BATSU! Chicago

BATSU! is a comedic and interactive live Japanese game show hosted at one of Chicago's top Japanese restaurants, Old Town’s Kamehachi Restaurant. Four warriors compete in comedic challenges to avoid electric shocks, paintballs, a giant egg-smashing chicken, and many more hilarious jaw-dropping punishments. The full menu/bar is available to the audience pre, post and during the show and the bravest diners may participate if they dare. Reserve your tix at BatsuChicago.com.

Option #4 if Dad loves live musical entertainment...

Miller Lite Beer Garden at Navy Pier

While most of Navy Pier's attractions draw a kid-sized crowd, the Miller Lite Beer Garden, on Chicago's lakefront at the East End of Navy Pier, is the perfect spot for Dad to enjoy a relaxing meal with a side of live entertainment along the lake. The "Live at the Lake!" summer music series continues Father's Day weekend featuring the hottest local bands. Plan on staying until 10:15 p.m., when the fireworks are launched from the pier: the beer garden is one of the best spots to see the spectacle!
