Luminary Walk

Lurie Garden AND Ryan Education Center
Is there anything more beautiful than Lurie Garden? Have you tried visiting Lurie Garden at twilight on a winter evening? Experience the winter beauty of the Lurie Garden filled with luminary lanterns throughout the garden during this year's Luminary Walk. Then make your way over Monroe Street on Renzo Piano's Nichols Bridgeway to warm up a bit and enjoy AIC's family crafted of creating your own luminous ornament in the Ryan Education Center, and enjoy a family gallery walk. 

Build Your Own Gingerbread House
December 14-15
11:00 AM -1:30 PM or 2:00-4:30 PM

Family Of Four: $50 Members, $60 Nonmembers
Create an edible dream home with the whole family! The construction of gingerbread houses is a quintessential part of holiday craft-making, so enjoy this fun tradition with the Art Institute Saturday December 14 or Sunday December 15. Reserve your spot here.

Caroling Tea

$15 Children 12 and Under
As Christmas draws nearer, join in on the holiday spirit with a caroling sing-along while enjoying complimentary snacks and desserts. Or if singing is not your forte, enjoy a warm cup of hot chocolate, sit back, and enjoy the music. This event requires a reservation here.

Celebrate the holidays with art making, gallery activities, and more! Create a flexible figure inspired by our new Neapolitan crèche. Stop by the Little Studio (ages 3-5); take a guided family gallery walk (ages 6-12); and on December 27, meet the Art Institute's mascot, Artie the Lion.
