Sharks. They're not cute. They're not cuddly. And yet they're amazing, fascinating creatures. Shark Week begins Sunday, July 5, on the Discovery Channel, and while watching these fin-tastic fish on TV is cool, seeing them in person is incredible. Did you know that Chicago's Shedd Aquarium, a leader in animal care and conservation, is also home to 11 different species of sharks? Here are seven ways to celebrate Shark Week at the Shedd Aquarium.
Ask a shark expert everything you've ever wanted to know about sharks on a #SharksAtShedd expert Twitter chat
One of Shedd's very own shark experts, Lise Watson,
Wild Reef collection manager, will answer all your burning questions
about sharks during the #SharksAtShedd Twitter chat. Simply log onto
Twitter and use the hashtag #SharksAtShedd to get all the shark answers
you're hunting for on Monday, July 6 from 1-2 p.m.
Enter the SharkFINatics contest
Are you a shark FINatic? Prove it! Post on social media to @Shedd_Aquarium using #SharkFinatics and show how you appreciate sharks. Maybe you have met a shark in the wild, or maybe you love to pretend you're the friendly shark in your local swimming pool. The biggest shark fan will win two complimentary passes to swim on over to Shedd for a day and also receive tickets to Shedd's Shark Feeding Tour: Behind the Scenes in Wild Reef! The contest runs from July 5 though July 11, 2015.
