There is certainly no shortage of festivals during the Chicago summer season. But how often do you have the chance to attend a festival that gives back? CrEATefest is a brand new outdoor festival happening Sunday, August 9, that celebrates food, art and community.

CrEATefest, presented by Changing Worlds, will be held at the Bridgeport Arts Center from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Art enthusiasts, foodies and families with children are all welcome! You like live music? They have it. Dance lessons? One of many activities you'll find at the festival. How about crafts? Art from local school children? There are so many things to do, you may not have a chance to catch your breath, but you'll certainly get hungry.

CrEATefest isn't just about art and activities - there will be several amazing food trucks on site! Vendors include Husky Hog BBQ (below), Yum Dum Truck, Da Lobsta, Chicago Cupcake and many more.

The event benefits Changing Worlds, an organization that helps engages more than 14,000 local students and teachers. In their own words, Changing Worlds' mission is to "foster inclusive communities through oral history, writing and art programs that improve student learning, affirm identity and enhance cross-cultural understanding." They partner with more than 70 schools and organizations across Chicago. It's not hard to see the impact this organization has in the community, and it's so easy to support them by having fun and enjoying local Chicago food truck fare.

Tickets can be purchased for as low as $7 for children and $20 for adults from Eventbrite. Can't make it to the fest? There's an option to donate to Changing Worlds on the Eventbrite page! All proceeds from the festival will benefit Changing Worlds' arts and cultural awareness programs provided across the Chicagoland area.
