January is a special time in Chicago. Not just because the city shimmers with ice and snow and the legendary Hawk blasts through every street. It's because January is the month that hometown fans (and visitors!) can see globe-trotting blue legend Buddy Guy perform at his equally famous blues bar, Legends.
For the entire month, Buddy Guy treats fans to his signature guitar riffs and evocative singing during his annual return. Despite the fact that Buddy is the elder statesman of Chicago blues and represents the music and culture all over the world, it's rare that he actually gets to play in Chicago.
A Grammy-winning guitar master (recently topped with the 2015 Lifetime Achievement Grammy) who inspired Jimi Hendrix, watching Buddy Guy live is like experiencing living history accented with electric guitar riffs. His remaining shows on Thursdays and Sundays the rest of the month represent the hottest tickets in town — Fridays and Saturdays are already sold out!
- Thursday, January 21 | Buddy Guy with Johnny Rawls
- Sunday, January 24 | Buddy Guy with Anthony Moser
- Thursday, January 28 | Buddy Guy with Vino Louden
- Sunday, January 31 | Buddy Guy with The Special 20's
Arrive as early as possible because his performances are always standing room only. At 78, he still performs with more energy than most Millennials so expect a dynamic night of blues classics like "I Got My Eyes On You" and "Damn Right I Got The Blues."
