If you like your meat served on a stick and your concerts outside, then you're counting down the days until July 10 (77, if you want to start now). While the five day event (July 10-14 in Grant Park) is still two and a half months away, Mayor Rahm Emanuel is getting the party started by announcing this year's list of headliners for the 33rd Annual Taste of Chicago.
The City of Chicago and the Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE) have Robin Thicke, Robert Plant, Jill Scott and Neon Trees joining previously announced opening performers fun. as this year's headline entertainment.
"The Taste draws hundreds of thousands of residents and visitors to downtown Chicago and we are excited to offer attendees such a variety of recognized, energized and award-winning quality entertainers while enjoying a taste of Chicago's culinary scene." said Mayor Rahm Emanuel.
For the first time ever, this year's event will welcome food trucks and additional food options will be offered for concert attendees from some of Chicago's best kitchens on four wheels.
Tickets in the seating area of the pavilion will run $25 a pop while lawn seating remains free-99. Tickets are scheduled to go on sale on the Taste website (tasteofchicago.us) on May 15 and you'll be thrilled to know that there are no additional fees or surcharges added to the $25 ticket.
