Join Executive Chef Paul Kahan, internationally acclaimed for Blackbird, avec, The Publican, Big Star, Publican Quality Meats and most recently Nico Osteria, as he hosts this event January 23, 2014, that is a culinary treat for the taste buds and Chicago event you won't want to miss. Chef Kahan was awarded "Outstanding Chef" by the James Beard Foundation for this year, previously "Best Chef of the Midwest" in 2004. Considered to be one of America's most influencial working chefs, Chef Kahan is sure to put on a great show at this year's First Bites Bash, and sure to feed us all quite well.
As this year's First Bites Bash Host, Chef Kahan was also charged with the responsiblity of choosing a charity to which a portion of the proceeds will be delivered. This year, Chef Kahan has chosen Gilda's Club Chicago and Pilot Light.
Chef Kahan won't be the only chef in the kitchen (or at the event) - over 50 of Chicago's most celebrated chefs and restaurants will be present to offer guests savory and sweet tastings throughout this food-filled evening.
The best part of Chicago Restaurant Week? It's a 14-day week. This annual culinary celebration includes an unprecendent number of participating restaurants (286!) featuring prix fixe menus starting at $22 for lunch and $33 and/or $44 for dinner (excluding beverages, tax, and gratuity). CRW takes place in restaurants across the city all "week" long, from downtown to neighborhoods to suburbs. Hungry yet?
