Choose Chicago presents a taste (quite literally) of what's to come during 2013 Chicago Restaurant Week, with their second annual First Bites Bash. On January 24, the city's top chefs will be serving up delicious offerings to the palate pleasing pacification of a sellout crowd. Union Station's Great Hall will host James Beard aspirants, Michelin-starred chefs and more than 1400 food frenzied guests. Don't miss your opportunity to attend one heck of a party with, undoubtedly, amazing appetizers.
In Chicago's much ballyhooed food scene, few events are as highly regarded as First Bites Bash. As a consequence, tickets are coveted with a blind fervor usually reserved for department store mark downs on Black Friday. Lucky for you, my cubicle is in the nerve center of First Bites Bash and 2013 Chicago Restaurant Week preparation, so I'll walk you through the process with a little insider knowledge.
First, tickets are on sale right now. Don't wait. The first 200 tickets will be sold at a discounted price of $75. After that, the price jumps to $95. So, if you want to guarantee yourself a spot in front of charmingly portioned short ribs AND save yourself $20, click here with urgency.
Second, Chicago Restaurant Week is great because of the endless exploratory dining options. But trying to eat at more than 200 area restaurants in ten days can be a challenge. Trust me. First Bites Bash allows you to sample your way through 50 Chicago Restaurant Week participants in an incredibly efficient (and delicious) manner.
Third, it will be a lot of fun. First Bites Bash is a totally unique experience because guests will have unprecedented access to Chicago's top chefs. In other words, you'll be able to discuss the plate presentation of your house made Hot Pockets with The Gage's Dirk Flanigan. Finally.
First Bites Bash will be held on January 24, 2013 in Union Station's Great Hall from 6:00PM-9:00PM. A portion of the proceeds from ticket sales will go to benefit Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Foundation. First Bites Bash is a preview event for Chicago Restaurant Week, an annual city-wide, ten day event (February 1-10) that features special prix fixe menus at over 250 area eateries.
