Chicago is one of the most beautiful cities in the world, and runners enjoy many great paths, trails and races throughout the area during the summer months. This year, the running calendar in Chicago is as exciting as ever!
The Big Ten Network's Big10K, on July 27, will be a celebration of running and the Big Ten conference's great presence in Chicago. This inaugural event will provide registered runners with customized race shirts in the colors of their alma mater, and will feature on incredible post-race tailgate.
The XSport Rock 'n' Roll Chicago Half Marathon & Mini Marathon (7/21) is a favorite in Chicago and features live music entertainment throughout the course. "Thunderstruck" on your iPod might help fuel you for a mile, but nothing sustains a 13 mile run quite like a real band.
The Bank of America Chicago Marathon (10/13) is Chicago's banner running event and it's only 127 days and 22 hours away. As a World Marathon Major, this event attracts nearly 50,000 runners and hundreds of thousands of spectators.
