Geja's Cafe

Here's a resolution for 2017: Make a point to expand your Chicago dining repertoire by exploring new restaurants during Chicago Restaurant Week 2017 (January 27–February 9). Over 350 Chicago restaurants are participating this year, including 50 brand-new additions, making this the perfect opportunity to give some new-to-you restaurants a try . . . while bringing the kids along too.

Here are five picks for family-friendly, fun and adventuresome dining with your kids during Chicago Restaurant Week.

Home Run Inn Pizza Lakeview

Home Run Inn Pizza
Home Run Inn has been baking up classic Chicago-style pizzas since the 1940's—and it's still family-owned! Their newest location in Lakeview is the perfect casual spot to catch a pizza dinner out with the kids. Plenty of TV screens make it a great place to catch the game, too.

During Restaurant Week, the $33 prix fixe dinner menu for two includes your choice of a salad, blue cheese fries or wings, and a personal pizza with your choice of up to 4 toppings, plus a sweet cupcake for dessert.

The $33 prix fixe Restaurant Week menu includes a ‘Back to Life Cocktail' (Dungeness crab, squid and shrimp lightly marinated in tomato, orange and lime juice and tossed with tomatoes, habaneros, avocado and cilantro) or black-eyed pea hummus; a first course choice between an arugula salad or chile verde; fried chicken or tamal de hongos for a main course; and a scoop of the ice cream du jour for dessert.
