Chi-town may be the world capital for deep dish pizza but dumplings from around the world might just be our next culinary trademark. Chicago supplies a mind-blowing selection of  dumpling versions and variations, including beet-juice infused varenyky from the Ukraine and whitefish stuffed gyoza from Japan. Inherit Chicago's World Dumpling Fest (coming up October 7) offers up a stellar line up of choices but for foodies who prefer to do their tastings on their own, check out these dumplings and restaurants.

Wine and Dine Pre-Show at Chicago's Lyric Opera

Tuesday, September 26, 2017 8:00 AM by Amy Bizzarri

The Lyric Opera of Chicago specializes in harnessing the power of costumery, scenery, light and sound effects, and above all, movement, music and voice to take audience members to altogether new places, time periods and heights. As an epic opera unfolds onstage, it's easy to find yourself suddenly transported to lively Latin Quarter of France, to a soldier-filled square in Seville or to 19th century Calabria, among a traveling troupe of clowns.

Located in a chic new building where State and Rush converge in the city’s Gold Coast neighborhood, Maple & Ash continues to receive attention as one of the city’s compelling new steakhouses, with an outside seating area that draws looks from passers-by and a menu curated by Chef Danny Grant that has received thoughtful accolades from all corners.

VeganMania is Chicago's premier celebration of all things vegan and wonderful.
