When not working the 9 to 5, Sarah can be found roaming the city with no particular destination in mind. She’s an avid lover of live music, street festivals, and identifies as a self-labeled foodie. Since moving to the Windy City in 2007, Sarah has run in two Chicago marathons and has embraced being a tourist in her own town.

Chicago Marathon - Blog

Six months of training. Massive consumption of energy foods. Battling the chaffing. Laughing when you realize your "short run" is ten miles

If you can identify with any of the above, you're probably a runner training for the marathon. A while back, I decided I'd give up on my days playing hockey and tennis and pick up a pair of running shoes. Market Days Comes to Boystown

Friday, August 10, 2012 12:00 AM by Sarah Leicher

Market Days comes to North Halsted St. in the Boystown neighborhood this weekend, August 11th and 12th. Billed as one of the largest outdoor festivals in the Midwest, Market Days celebrates the GLBT community with stages of live music, good food, and plenty of vendors where you can pick up anything and everything.

The weather forecast for the Memorial Day weekend calls for heat and humidity, but if you're looking for an even steamier weekend, head over to the Hyatt Regency Hotel (131 E. Wacker Drive) for the GLBT International Mr. Leather, the global event tailored to the leather lovers everywhere. Events include parties, auctions, and support groups. A full schedule can be viewed here. While most events will take place downtown in the Loop, some will be held in the northern neighborhood of Rogers Park.
