Black Bean Fideos

Ah, soup . . . that warm, savory soul balm that makes cold and blustery (or just plain difficult) days a little bit more bearable. When a warmed-up can of potage just isn’t good enough, Chicago eateries come through with some tastes-like-homemade options that will have you checking the kitchen to make sure your grandma is not in there stirring pots. Hungry now? Well, here are five tasty, hearty soups that are oh-so-worth trying.

Dos Urban Cantina

Tattoo exhibit
Rarely do you see the phrase “rock star” being used to describe a museum exhibit, but the words perfectly describe Tattoo at The Field Museum. The show, which runs through April 30, 2017, was initially developed by Paris’s musée du quai Branly–Jacques Chirac and is showing in the United States for the first time.
Boleo at The Kimpton Gray Hotel Chicago

Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants opened its fifth 4-star Chicago boutique hotel with fanfare and bespoke sizzle. The Kimpton Gray Hotel, formerly the landmark New York Life Insurance building, is located in the city's business district, but it is anything but stiff shirts and haughty looks. Instead, it is the perfect mix of contemporary luxury and chic city fun. Here's a few reasons why this might be the perfect place to stay for your next visit to downtown Chicago:

Especially in a city like Chicago where it is easy to find eateries and bars for those who are Irish proud (or just want to be Irish adjacent).
Roy's Chicago Sushi

No matter where your taste buds want to travel, Chicago restaurants deliver with authenticity. Here are a six favorites that, if you close your eyes while chewing, will make you swear you've been transported to a foreign land.
