Chicago Dancing Festival

Welcome to the weekend, Chicago! Seems like this summer is flying by, but the action keeps coming. We've got comedy cruises, bus tours of Chicago's top attractions plus a beer gathering at a zoo. A free dancing extravaganza turns 10 and Randolph Street goes vintage. Not to mention, a NEW rooftop opening. It's time to make weekend plans! 

Upstairs at The Gwen

Located on the fifth floor of The Gwen Hotel, Upstairs at The Gwen has design flourishes reminiscent of the Art Deco age, while retaining a modern sensibility that offers a bit of respite from the chaotic bustle of nearby Rush Street locales. American Girl Place Melody Ellison

You'll know you've arrived at Chicago's American Girl outpost when you spot the gaggles of giggling girls clutching their dolls as they excitedly making their way toward Michigan Avenue's Water Tower Place. This upscale, specialty doll store is a little girl's dream come true: a doll-friendly cafe, bakery, and even an in-house doll hair salon make American Girl Place a Chicago tourist destination in itself. American Girl Place Chicago will roll out the red carpet this August for the official debut of its newest BeForever character, Melody Ellison.

Chicago Gourmet

Bon Appétit presents Chicago Gourmet is back September 23-25 for its 9th year. This year's  theme is ‘Food is Art!' and will be hosted by celebrity chef and restaurateur Rick Bayless. The main event takes place over two days (hurry, Sunday tickets are still available!), but here are six special ticketed events and cook-offs you won't want to miss, including the debut of a new celebrity taco bout.
