Cubs 2008 home uniforms

Who better to kick off the Chicago Cubs' 2000s themed homestand on Labor Day than the Little League World Series U.S. champion Jackie Robinson West All-Stars! These young ballplayers who captured the nation's hearts during the 2014 Little League World Series will be on hand at Wrigley Field to meet the Cubs during batting practice, throw the ceremonial first pitch and lead the 7th inning stretch from the field.

Richard Driehaus Museum

Steps away from Chicago's Magnificent Mile, the Richard H. Driehaus Museum gives guests a fascinating look into the palatial homes built by Chicago's wealthy Gilded Age magnates. Step back in time and into the stunning galleries, all elegantly furnished with pieces from the most celebrated designers of the late 19th and early 20th century, such as Louis Comfort Tiffany and the Herter Brothers.

African Festival of the Arts

Chicago is no stranger to cultural festivals, but one of the largest and best of the summer will be taking place this weekend, and it is a must see. The African Festival of the Arts is celebrating its 25th anniversary and is expecting a well over 300,000 people to visit the historic Washington Park to take on all of the festivities celebrating the African cluture.

DCASE Millennium Park Fifth Star Awards

Chicago has an undeniably rich art culture, home to some of the world's greatest art museums and famous outdoor pieces the public can enjoy. To honor such a distinctive art tradition as well as celebrate the artists whose creations have inspired millions, the Jay Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium Park will be holding the inaugural Fifth Star Awards, Sept. 17 at 7 p.m.

There are a number of comedy shows flying under the radar. First and foremost, iO Chicago is having their grand opening this weekend, so that almost trumps just about any other event this weekend. However, tickets are a little pricey, so if your wallet be more comfortable at a lower-priced ticket, then I have a few shows I think you should check out.
