Barcocina

Barcocina is a new restaurant in Lakeview, conveniently located between the Diversey and Wellington Brown Line stops. Lakeview is a great Chicago neighborhood to check out for food and shopping, not to mention its proximity to both downtown Chicago and Wrigleyville. As closeby Chicago hotdog spot Hot Diggity Dog has regrettably just closed its doors, a new go-to spot was practically required to take its place.

What Eataly is to Italian food and IKEA is to chic Swedish furniture and meatballs, Local Foods will be to the Midwest. Come tomorrow, June 30, Chicago will be home to a brand new 27,000 square foot facility in Bucktown that contains an all day, every day indoor farmers' market, a butcher shop, a cafe, a wholesale food hub, and so much more.

American Girl: Grace Stirs Up Success

This summer, girls across the U.S. will be heading to the movies to "An American Girl: Grace Stirs Up Success," an inspiring feature-length movie based on the the book series that follows the culinary exploits of the American Girl 2015 Girl of the Year, Grace Thomas. Grace shows girls today that following your dreams can lead to sweet rewards, as she works toward opening a bakery of her very own. To celebrate the debut of "Grace Stirs Up Success," American Girl Place Chicago will be baking up fun all summer long with crafts activities, workshops, special diners and more.

The shows take place every Thursday through September 10 from 5-7 p.m., and are free for all to enjoy at the foot of one of Chicago's greatest landmarks.
