Metra
Hop aboard Metra, where all tracks lead to fun. Metra operates 12 commuter rail lines into downtown Chicago from the six-county area of northeast Illinois.
Children’s Weekday fares: Ages 7-11 save approximately 50% on a one-way ticket. Ages 6 and under ride free with an adult.
10-ride ticket: Saves 15% over one-way fares and can be shared by people riding together.
Group Fares: Can be prearranged for 25 people or more. Available on weekends and off-peak weekday hours. Call 1-312-322-6772 for more information.
One-way ticket: Valid for one year from date of purchase. Purchase any tickets at stations where a ticket agent is on duty. A one-way cash fare can be purchased on the train if an agent is not on duty at the station where you boarded.
South Shore Line
The South Shore Line services Chicago through Northern Indiana to the South Bend Airport.
Weekend Pass: Special one-way promotional fare valid only when NICTD's weekend/holiday service schedule is in effect (eastbound Trains 601, 505, 507, 509, 511, 513, 515, 517, and 619; and westbound Trains 600, 502, 504, 506, 508, 510, 512, 514, and 516). Valid only on weekend/holiday in which it is purchased. No further discounting will be applied to this fare. Excursion tickets cannot be purchased from NICTD's ticket vending machines.
Family Fares: On Saturday, Sunday, Holiday, and daily off-peak trains, two children thirteen (13) years of age or younger, when accompanied by a parent or guardian, will be carried free. Each adult may be accompanied by two children traveling free. Additional or unaccompanied youths will be charged reduced fare. A guardian must be at least 21 years of age and legally responsible for the health and well-being of the passengers.

Discounted Fares: Youth, senior, student and military rates are also available.
