Chicago is packed full of exciting, world-renowned attractions. But how do you get to them all? Chicago offers a wide variety of economical – or even  free –  transportation options.

Free trolleys travel between Navy Pier and State Street along Grand and Illinois. From Memorial Day to Labor Day, downtown free trolleys run every 20 minutes, carrying passengers to some of the city’s most popular museums, shopping destinations, and attractions.

The Chicago Transit Authority offers bus and elevated train service throughout the city.  Enjoy unlimited rides for amazing prices with the CTA Visitor Pass   Otherwise, the cash fare for kids ages 7-11 is only $1. Children under age 7 ride free. Download the train schedule or bus schedule, and start planning your trip today.

The Metra Commuter Rail also offers great transportation deals with their Family Fares and Weekend Pass. Up to three kids (age 11 and under) ride free on weekends and adults get unlimited rides for just $5 on Saturdays and Sundays!

Looking  to cruise through town on two wheels? The Chicago Department of Transportation’s Bike Program provides comprehensive information about city biking including maps, parking, and more.  Also, many companies offer bike rentals and tours – it’s a great way to be green and save some green.
