Additional Membership Upgrades and Special Marketing Buy-Ins

send print Share

When you join the CCTB, you automatically receive a wide array of benefits. But Bureau membership is also the ticket to many other special opportunities not even available to non-members. Because of our leadership position in the city’s convention and tourism industry, we can offer many ways to maximize your membership and help distinguish your business from others.

These membership upgrades or special marketing buy-ins are often unique and targeted for different types of businesses with different goals. They may be annual programs or one-time opportunities.

Publication Advertising
Members receive a complimentary listing in any of our three appropriate marketing publications: The Chicago Official Visitors Guide, The Meeting Professionals Guide, and The Travel Professionals Guide. Members may also purchase space for display ads of their own. This is a great way to promote your brand, add color and graphics to your messages, or promote a new product or service. Ads may be purchased from the CCTB’s custom publisher, Weaver Publications.

For rates and more information, contact Weaver Publications at 312/664-3732.

Web Enhancements
In addition to your complimentary listing on any of our appropriate web sites, you can also purchase three additional products to “spice up” your listing or make it stand out from others in the same category. See the order form in this package for more details. Please note the “Direct Connect” enhancement is now automatically included with your basic membership.

For more information, contact your CCTB Membership Services Manager or the Membership Department at 312/567-8491.

McCormick Place Brochure Racks
The 2.5 million people who visit McCormick Place each year are a widely sought-after audience! The CCTB’s Chicago Official Visitors Guide is the only guide distributed in the building, but we’ve taken it one step further. Working with building management, the CCTB has now developed a program through which Bureau members can display their own brochures. Racks are centrally located in the Grand Concourse (between the North and South buildings) and on Level 2 of Lakeside Center. An outside vendor (CTM) handles operations and the sale of rack space on behalf of the CCTB and McCormick Place.

For rates and more information, contact your CCTB Membership Services Manager or CTM directly at 630/833-3388.

Special Offers –

Chicago's "We're Glad You're Here!®" Program
Another great way to get your name in front of meeting attendees is to participate in Chicago’s “We’re Glad You’re Here” (CWGYH) Special Offers program. There is no fee to participate – all you have to do is be willing to extend a discount or special offer for one of your products or services for a period of one year. The CCTB promotes these special offers on www.meetinchicago.com.

For more information, contact Ruth Klimasara in the CCTB Strategic Client Services Department at 312/567-8501

Participation in Leisure Travel Packages or Promotions
Interested in the leisure travel market? The CCTB Tourism Department creates a number of travel programs and promotions throughout the year to market Chicago to individual tourists. These promotions are often supported by advertising campaigns and promoted through Chicago’s official tourism call center (877-CHICAGO). Promotions may vary in size and scope, so participation may be limited to certain categories of membership. We’re now also encouraging CCTB members to work together to create their own packages to be promoted on our websites.

For more information, contact Patrick Steffes in the CCTB Tourism Department at 312/567-8569.

Student/Youth Travel Brochure
Does your business serve the student/youth travel market? Chances are, you’ll want to be part of our brochure specifically targeting this important segment. This fold-out piece both sells Chicago to tour organizers and group leaders, and in turn helps them sell their Chicago trip to potential student or youth travelers. For your support of the piece, your business will receive a listing in the brochure. Brochure is produced annually.

For rates and more information, contact Joleen Domaracki in the CCTB Tourism Department at 312/567-8571.

Sponsorship Opportunities
Our Special Events Department is busy throughout the year organizing gatherings for members and partners, current and potential customers, and professional industry groups. Some are held locally and others out-of-town in conjunction with national events.

What all of these events have in common are sponsorship opportunities exclusively for CCTB members. By sponsoring a CCTB event, you’ll gain crucial exposure with important decision-makers in a key market, possibly with the opportunity to communicate key messages or sample your product or service. You’ll also demonstrate your leadership in Chicago’s convention and tourism industry and your support of the Bureau’s sales and marketing mission.

A wide variety of sponsorships are available for companies large and small. You’ll often find targeted opportunities that are just right for your business or your audience.

For more information, contact CCTB Membership Director Jordan Engerman at 312/567-8586.
