Program Dates & Location: During the selected conventions and trade shows,
Ambassadors will provide hospitality services, including hosting exhibitor snack stations and greeting convention attendees with refreshments as they board shuttle buses. The events will primarily take place at McCormick Place in Chicago. Currently, the Ambassador Task Force is targeting 2008 shows to service. Each service will last approximately 1-2 hours, and members will be expected to attend 8 -10 events over the course of the year.
- Participation Deadline: Application process will open November 1, 2007 and close November 21, 2007.
Brief Program Description & Target Market: The purpose of the Ambassador Task Force is to make show attendees, exhibitors and management feel welcomed and appreciated during their visit to Chicago. This program will support the hospitality efforts coordinated by the Chicago Convention and Tourism Bureau and enhance Chicago’s, “We’re Glad You’re Here!®” city-wide recognition program. The Ambassador Task Force helps to add a personal touch to each customer’s Chicago experience by providing face-to-face personal interaction.
Program Benefits: Becoming an Ambassador is a great networking opportunity. Every individual from the Ambassador Task Force is in some way associated with the Chicago service industry and the conventions that come in to McCormick Place.
- Member Opportunity: There are numerous networking and educational opportunities within the Chicago tourism industry that only Ambassadors will be invited to enjoy, including the opportunity to walk the tradeshow floor at McCormick Place.
- Cost to Participate: Donation of personal time
