Chicago's a big city, but it's remarkably easy to getaround. Once in Chicago, transportation is readily available, whether taxicabs, limousines, public transportation or rental cars are preferred. The city's rapid transit system provides quick, safe rail service to downtown from both O'Hare International and Midway airports.
All the convention facilities, hotels, cultural institutions, shopping, dining and entertainment are concentrated in a relatively small area. Everything can be easily reached by public transportation, while many of the most popular attractions are within walking distance of each other.
- Taxis: Chicago has the second largest fleet of taxis in the nation, with approximately 6,900 cabs.
- Discounts: Taxis offer discounted shared rides between McCormick Place, Midway and O’Hare International and downtown.
- McCormick Place provides more than 8,000 parking spaces.
- Dedicated Busway: Getting to McCormick Place is easy with a dedicated busway between the McCormick Place complex and downtown. By allowing charter buses for convention and trade shows to bypass local traffic, this two-lane, 2.5-mile roadway decreases travel times and subsequently, busing costs, for transporting attendees.
