 Experienced Workforce

All you have to do is take a look at Chicago's skyline and infrastructure to see the craftsmanship of our workers. Within the exhibition industry, the skill of Chicago's work force is well known; in fact, other cities have imported Chicago workers for temporary convention support. Plus, new work rules have reduced costs for exhibitors.

  • Skilled Labor Professionals: Chicago is home to the largest skilled tradeshow labor force - more than any other U.S. city.
  • 2005 Labor Agreement: Expanded on relaxed work rules to allow for significant savings at McCormick Place and Navy Pier. For example, in booths of 300 square feet or less, exhibitors or their full-time employees (approximately 70% of all booths) may complete their own set up and decorating work that doesn't involve power tools or ladders.
  • Average Hourly Labor Rate: Less than many other cities including New York, San Francisco, Philadelphia, San Jose and Atlantic City.
