Break out of those conference rooms and discover a different kind of meeting space in Chicago.

A Night at the Museum

With all that Impressionism plus 5,000 years of human artistry, The Art Institute of Chicago is bound to impress. Besides being surrounded by world-renowned art, dazzle attendees with a meeting in the Trading Room, which contains part of the original Chicago Stock Exchange.

The Field Museum in Chicago

The Field Museum, which explores diverse environments and cultures, is also home to Sue, the 67 million-year-old, 13-foot-high, 42-foot-long Tyrannosaurus rex skeleton.

See stars at the Adler Planetarium. Examine them through a telescope in the Sky Theater or the interactive Sky Rider where visitors can choose how they journey into space.

Go from space to a Poseidon adventure at Shedd Aquarium, where more than 32,000 undersea creatures dwell. Watch the belugas swim by or the Pacific white-sided dolphins make waves as they leap 15 feet into the air at the new Oceanarium.

Not only is the Museum of Science and Industry an architectural sight to behold, but events can be held alongside one-of-a-kind exhibits like the U-505 – a World War II German submarine – or the Coal Mine.

Picturesque Places

Elegance abounds at the 100-year-old Victorian-styled Garfield Park Conservatory. See eight different landscapes under glass, including the tropical Palm House.

The understated, 100-year-old, prairie-style building that’s home to Café Brauer sits near Lincoln Park Zoo’s South Pond. The second-floor Great Hall dazzles with leaded glass windows and vaulted ceilings, while outdoor stone terraces offer stunning skyline vistas.

Accented with marble and gold leaf, the Chicago Cultural Center is dressed to impress. The festooned Preston Bradley Hall, with its 38-foot Tiffany Dome, will leave attendees breathless.

Get Out of Town

Chicago Botanic GardenDiscuss business within an English-walled garden or alongside a waterfront terrace in Glencoe, where Chicago Botanic Garden’s themed areas transport attendees from a humdrum conference room to a wonderland of landscapes.

Hold an all-day event at Cantigny Park in Wheaton. The former home of onetime Chicago Tribune publisher Robert McCormick boasts a golf course, two museums, and formal gardens.
