John Allan’s (111 W Jackson Blvd, 312-607-0506)
On the top floor of a South Loop high-rise adjoining the Chicago Board of Trade, Dad can enjoy a bar, pool table, flat-screen TVs, plush leather chairs and an outdoor terrace. Of course, the main draw is the spalike services, such as pedicures, facials and haircuts. When you purchase a gift certificate for your dad, he’ll be entered in a raffle worth $500 in John Allan’s products (including the 63 razor set and leather travel roll up). Plus, with a $50 purchase, he’ll get a free one-year subscription to either GQ or Details magazines.

316 Club (175 W Jackson Blvd, 312-880-0316)
If your dad’s a fan of the original Ocean’s 11, he’ll dig the 1960s Vegas-style ambiance of 316. This South Loop “barberspa” is offering a special Father’s Day package, the Daddy-O: a combination of the club’s Pit Boss service (a hot-lather shave, massaging shampoo, haircut, hand detail, shoe shine and a beer) with a one-hour Swedish massage ($125). If you just want to give Dad the massage, the club is knocking $25 off the treatment (normally $75) through Sunday 21.

American Male (401 W Ontario St, #175, 312-482-8170)
This sports-themed salon (its walls feature autographed photos and jerseys of famous athletes) in River North offers much more than a buzz cut and the game on flat-screens. For example, for $79, you can give Dad both the Quality Grooming experience (normally $43), which includes a haircut, paraffin hand dip, scalp massage and styling, plus a facial (normally $61).

Mister 312 (180 W Lake St, 877-466-7312)
One of the Loop’s newest men’s grooming spots features a reservable VIP suite, which includes a personal concierge (who’ll get Dad a drink and help him book dinner reservations) and private treatments (manicures, hot shave, haircuts) in a comfy chair. But he’ll still feel like a very important pop even if you skip the luxe room service and gift him a package deal ($100): Mix the Michigan Avenue haircut (normally $57) with the Gold Coast Deluxe facial (regularly $55–$75) or the Soldier Field pedicure ($50) and a one-hour massage (usually $75).

Men’s Grooming Parlor (5316 N Clark St, 773-316-9357)
Matt Leyes’s new Andersonville parlor focuses on skin care (including a variety of facials, a detox herbal wrap and back treatments) and waxing services in cool, Indiana Jones –meets-safari-lounge environs. Mention you’re booking a service as a Father’s Day gift to receive 30 percent off. If your father is really up for an adventure, we suggest the back wax.
