Chicago's GLBT DiningIn the city whose culinary reputation is skyrocketing, many restaurants are gay-owned or gay-friendly. Chicago Pride editors recommend Halsted’s Bar and Grill – which boasts “Boystown’s biggest patio.” Cesar’s Restaurant and Cesar’s on Broadway offer 11 unique margaritas to accompany the Mexican specialties on the menu in these two Lakeview restaurants. Nookies Tree in Lakeview (and two other locations) serves wholesome, fresh, affordable food in a casual atmosphere. And Ann Sather’s in Lakeview and Andersonville are warm places with made-from-scratch food – including irresistible cinnamon rolls.

In Andersonville, Tweet…Let’s Eat serves delicious and mostly organic food for breakfast, brunch, and lunch plus dinners most nights. It's sister restaurant Big Chicks, is open nightly for casual food and drinks and offers a free buffet every Sunday.

Chicago's GLBT Dining

Among the many restaurants listed by Northalsted Merchants Association is casually elegant Cornelia’s which serves Italian/American food and cabaret entertainment. Diners enjoy French comfort food at FireFly where red walls and curtained booths add to the intimate atmosphere. Contemporary Jack’s on Halsted blends Asian, Mediterranean, and New World dishes to come up with its distinctively American menu. And at Kit Kat Lounge & Supper Club – known for its martinis – female impersonators strut their stuff.
