This exhibition explores the ways in which leading Fluxus artist Wolf Vostell used concrete as an actual material and artistic motif in the late 1960s and early 1970s. It is presented in conjunction with Concrete Happenings
, a collaborative series of public exhibitions, screenings, symposia, and happenings at the University of Chicago that mark the return of Vostell’s colossal sculpture Concrete Traffic
(1970) to public view.
