No art forms have escaped the influence of Shakespeare’s creativity—and dance is no exception. In the true spirit of Creating Shakespeare, this program will explore how Shakespeare was interpreted by Chicago dancer Ruth Page, through a combination of film footage, live performance, and commentary featuring choreographers Venetia Stifler and Victor Alexander and dancers from the Ruth Page Center for the Arts. See Shakespeare’s sonnets, stories, and most famous characters set to motion—through dance.

This event is part of programming related to the Newberry exhibition Creating Shakespeare, which runs from September 23 to December 31, 2016.
