Puppets In Progress: A Workshop For Puppet Creators
Co-presented by Rough House Theater, the Logan Center for the Arts and Theater and Performance Studies at The University of Chicago
Join members of Rough House Theater for an afternoon of sharing your ideas for new puppet performances at the November PIP. PIPs (Puppets in Progress) is an informal gathering for testing out new puppet and object-based performances. Bring whatever you’re working on and get encouragement and feedback from other Chicago puppet-folks!
This workshop is FREE, and perfect for puppet fans of all skill levels.
Are you new to puppetry and want a low-stakes way to test the waters? Are you an old hand with a new project? Are you a dancer, comics artist, performance poet, teacher, lifeguard, engineer, or just curious about what puppetry looks like today? Everyone is welcome! Bring a project, no matter how rough, or just come for the conversation. There will be snacks and supportive humans! This is a great way to try out projects that might be included in cabaret performances at the Logan Center as part of the Chicago International Puppet Theater Festival in January 2024.
