Spring is here in Chicago and things are warming up in the Windy City. Warmer temperatures means that there's even more to do in the city, as markets open their doors and song and dance fill the air (no, really!). Most of the options in our list are free things to do in Chicago this month, with a few that will run you less than $10.

Celebrate beautiful spring blooms in the city at the annual Macy's Flower Show. The theme for this year is "Carnival." This is an activity for the whole family to enjoy. Don't forget to bring your camera! Runs through April 9.

OPENING NIGHT APRIL 3 **FREE
The opening for Chicago Dance Month takes place on April 3 from 6 to 7:15 p.m. at Navy Pier (Aon Grand Ballroom). The event is free, but reservations are requested. There will be free performances by notable Chicago dance groups, as well as a Q+A with Hamilton dance captains.

Pick through piles of new and used vinyl, CDs, DVDs, posters, and music-related accessories at the 15th annual CHIRP (Chicago Independent Radio Project) Record Fair. Check out the special pop-up edition of Vintage Garage as 25 vendors with all kinds of clothing, art, jewelry, furniture and decor will take over the first floor of Plumber's Hall while CHIRP brings their best vinyl to take over the 2nd floor! Food, drinks and music will round things out.General admission is $7.

This month, go check out some of the best vintage and thrift that Chicago has to offer. Vintage Garage is a flea market that happens once a month during the spring to fall season, literally in a parking garage! April 23 is the 2017 season’s first market. Have things to sell? Randolph Street Market is an antique and vintage shopping extravaganza. Whether you’re looking for a unique piece for your home, or some inexpensive fashion jewelry, this place has it all. Greektown is one of Chicago’s favorite ethnic neighborhoods. On April 30, head to Halsted Street to join in the celebration of the 197th Greek Independence Day. There’s no charge to watch the parade, and delicious food is affordable.

Emporium Arcade Bar has two locations, one in Wicker Park and one in Logan Square. Both locations have live music a few days a week during April and admission is almost always free. Soul Summit is a monthly Chicago club that hosts awesome soul-music dance parties. The next free dance party is April 15 at Logan Square Auditorium featuring DJs Sloppy White, Dave Mata, and Duke Grip.
