Each one offers a unique experience for groups, not to mention hefty savings and optional perks like pre-show receptions or post-show discussions — all designed to give your guests a trip to remember.

1. War Horse (12/18/2012 – 1/5/2013)

Broadway in Chicago

For the best theater in the U.S., turn left at 42nd Street and head west 800 miles. Mega-hit musicals, world premieres and Tony Award® winners await at five of Chicago's finest theaters: the Cadillac Palace Theatre, Oriental Theatre, Bank of America Theatre, Auditorium Theatre and Broadway Playhouse. This season, catch War Horse, winner of five Tony Awards®. This play follows the journey of Joey, young Albert’s beloved horse, after he is sold to the cavalry at the start of WWII. Life-sized puppets bring to life galloping, charging horses strong enough for men to ride.

4. Henry VIII (4/30/2013 – 6/16/2013)

Chicago Shakespeare Theatre

For the best of Shakespeare, let Chicago Shakespeare Theatre wow your groups with intricate storytelling and vibrant productions — like Henry VIII. As the sordid tale unfolds of England's most opulent king — notorious for his habit of wedding and beheading — Anne Boleyn rises to power, Queen Katherine is ousted from her throne, and the political machinations and exploits of a king's reign are laid bare.

The theater is located on Chicago’s iconic Navy Pier, giving groups not just beautifully balanced classic works and unparalleled insight into the human condition, but also benefits like discounted parking, pre- or post-show programming, and convenient top-notch dining options. Plus, you get a complimentary pair of tickets so you can see the show prior to your group’s arrival.

5. Hansel and Gretel (12/7/2012 – 1/19/2013)

Lyric Opera of Chicago

The internationally renowned Lyric Opera of Chicago features some of the finest voices the world has ever heard. But it’s not just about the music; it’s also about the drama. A popular production this season is the familiar fairytale Hansel and Gretel — and if you think all fairytales are sugarcoated, remember that the Brothers Grimm usually lived up to their name. Food and the lack of it propel the story of two children who dream not of toys but of having enough to eat. When the family cupboard’s bare, their mother (no June Cleaver!) sends them into the very dark forest to find the evening meal… With just enough scary and gruesome ingredients, plus a hilarious food-flinging scene, Hansel and Gretel appeals to kids, too. English subtitles help tell the story as well.

Groups receive a 20 percent discount on the main floor and will generally be seated together in the best available section in your price selection. Not sure of your final group size? No problem. The size of your group may be increased if tickets are available or decreased prior to final payment. (Once payment is received, sales are final.)
