In 1979, George Randazzo founded the National Italian American Sports Hall of Fame
(NIASHF) as a non-profit institution to help raise money for a struggling local Catholic youth program. Today, it boasts over 200 inductees in its 35 year history.
The MIASHF's most prized pieces of memorabilia include:
- One of Mario Andretti's Indy 500 racecars
- Rocky Marciano's first heavyweight championship belt
- Vince Lombardi's last coat worn as a coach of the Green Bay Packers
- Swimmer Matt Biondi's Olympic Gold Medals
The organization has risen over $6M for scholarships and charitable causes. The space includes a grand ballroom, rooftop terrace and performing arts center. For more information, visit http://www.niashf.org.
