The Refinery is set to open at the end of June with a full kitchen of talent from Lawrence Letrero (Untitled, Tribute) and pastry chef Hetty Arts with beverages prepared by Cody Modeer and Enoch Cruz. The menu concept is based off the name — taking well-known dishes and refining them into a new twist on old classics. The dining atmosphere will project relaxed sophistication with a warm and hip vibe.
The Ritz-Carlton opened its newest addition and has entered the
downtown hotel rooftop scene. The dec Rooftop Lounge and Bar is located on the 12th
floor located outside the hotel's current restaurant, Deca. The menu features
light snacks and specialty cocktails, but the main attraction will be The Lens,
an eye-shaped sculpture constructed of the same material as Cloud Gate (aka The
Bean) that will reflect light from a nearby fireplace.

Tony Hu, known for his multiple Chicago restaurants (Lao Sze Chuan and Lao Hunan) opened his newest restaurant, Lao 18, in the River North neighborhood. Lao 18 specializes in all Chinese styles, serving classic dim sum, lunch and dinner dishes. The restaurant can seat 265 includes private event space and outdoor patio.
